The Higher Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq has announced it did not take part in the talks that took place in the White House on January 14 between several Iraqi opposition organizations and the envoy of the US President Zalman Khalil Zad because the talks were not that necessary or important and the council did not get a proper invitation.

The spokesman for the council Hameed al-Bayati said that the USA should have no role in the meeting of the Iraqi opposition due to be held this month, January, in Salah Eddine, in Iraq's Kurdistan, and we should not meet with Khalil Zad.

However, Khalil Zad had invited to the January 14 meeting representatives for 6 Iraqi opposition groups with the aim of preparing for the Salah Eddine meeting, but officials indicated that the Iraqi National Reconciliation Movement also did not send a representative for the White House talks.
