First Arab-financed computer to be manufactured in Egypt within weeks

The first Arab-financed computer will be manufactured in Egypt within the coming few weeks in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, an Arab investor and some companies in Taiwan and Korea.

A responsible source at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology told Middle East News Agency (MENA) Sunday that Egypt will contribute production lines and trained engineers and technicians.

Taiwanese and Korean companies will have technological supervision on production. The project will be financed by an Arab investor.

The source said that the project will be carried out as part of plans to encourage the manufacture of computer components in Egypt.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is sponsoring a plan, under the title "A computer in every home" in order to expand demand on Egyptian computers.
