Washington rejects implicitly Lebanon's contact with Canada over Hizbullah

The US yesterday abstained from commenting directly on contacts carried out by the Lebanese government with the Canadian government to retract its declaration that Hizbullah is a "terrorist" organization.

The spokesman for the US Department of State Richard Boucher said that his government's position is clear which is that organizations like Hizbullah and Hamas and other organizations are on the list ( of terrorism) because they are terrorist organizations and carry out terrorist attacks. Boutcher added that Hizbullah should be dealt with as "terrorists."
