Al-Ahram: Blair urges Palestinians and Israelis to revitalize negotiations

The British Prime minister Tony Blair has urged the Palestinian and the Israeli sides to revitalize their negotiation operations.

In an article issued yesterday for him by the Egyptian al-Ahram daily, Blair said "we, must all in the West and in the Islamic world pressure the two sides to put an end to sufferings and to work together for the birth of a new future for themselves."

He added that the Quartet committee exerts genuine efforts to achieve this objective. He added that the "roadmap" which is embarked upon by the committee is a practical way to define the steps which will be conducive to the foundation of a Palestinian state beside Israel by the fall of 2005.
