Moroccan and Egyptian experts examine free trade agreement updating

Originally published

Moroccan and Egyptian experts started in Cairo today work sessions to update the free-trade agreement signed between the two Arab states in 1996.

The three-day session is looking into a revision of the list of duty-exempt goods and elimination of administrative and technical barriers to bilateral trade.

Discussions will also cover the Agadir declaration, signed in May 2001 by Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia and Egypt which agreed to set up a free trade area.

The meeting is chaired by Morocco's ambassador to Egypt, Ali Oumlil, and secretary general of the Egyptian ministry of external commerce, Fouad Kasem.
