Prince Talal describes the campaign against Saudi Arabia as repressive

Originally published

Prince Talal Bin Tala Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, half brother of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd, has described the campaign in certain American circles against Saudi Arabia as "repressive." He called for dialogue between Riyadh and Washington "to find solutions" for the current crisis, while he considered "terrorism accusation" directed against Islam and Muslim as "repressive."

After he was appointed the first special envoy for waters at UNESCO, prince Talal stressed the need of "dealing with problems extremists suffer that push for terrorism." He simultaneously stressed that "state terrorism generates more terrorism."

The prince said in Paris "we call for just peace between the Arabs and Israel. Conflicts and wars do not serve man, being Muslim, Christian or a Jew. It should be clear for all that we are people who call for peace and work for it in the region in order to preserve all our potentials, foremost being water."

On his ability of having his efforts to solve the standing conflict between Israel and Lebanon over sharing al-Wazzani river waters, Prince Talal said "what is taking place today between Israel and Lebanon should be dealt with calmly. The international atmospheres do not fit any group to be against the other and dealing with the problem should be through discussions and dialogue under the umbrella of the UN, if possible."
