Works of the 6th session of the Saudi- Tunisian joint committee started chaired by the Saudi Arabia's minister of commerce Osama al-Faqih and the Tunisian minister of development and international cooperation Muhammad al-Nouri al-Jweini.
In an inaugural speech, the Saudi minister explained that the future of Saudi- Tunisian economic cooperation has great potentials to achieve a genuine exchange of benefits between the two countries. He indicated that the current level of intertrade between the two states has not exceeded 242 million Saudi riyals for 2000. A very humble figure and does not live up to the available opportunities and potentials available in the two states.
For his part, the Tunisian minister of development and international cooperation expressed his hope that during the meetings of this session areas of cooperation will be enhanced in various economic, trade and agricultural sectors so as to bolster Saudi- Tunisian relations.
