Islamic world, a nation of good not axis of evil, ISESCO says
The Islamic World is a Nation of good not an axis of evil, said in Rabat Friday the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), at the opening of the 23rd session of the ISESCO Executive Council.
"We are a Nation of dialogue not clash or conflict," said Abdulaziz Othman Al Twaijri, stressing that the Islamic world "subscribes to a just peace based on right and international legitimacy."
He further said that "terrorism is contrary to our nature and that the Muslim World is constructive force that enriches the contemporary world civilization."
Taking the floor, Morocco's Minister of Higher Education, Executive Training and Scientific Research stressed that education, culture, science and communication are the most efficient means of promoting the situation in the Islamic world.
Touching on the educational, cultural and scientific challenges facing the Islamic world, he emphasized that speeches and words were not sufficient to correct the image of Islam, because the credibility of this discourse depends on the depth of its content and on the extent of its applicability in reality.
