Originally published

The Ethiopian - Eritrea military coordination committee will hold its first meeting in Nairobi, which has not met since last April, at the level of military leaderships in order to discuss several issues including border demarcation and elimination of the consequences of war since the signing of the ceasefire agreement.

These agreements will be chaired by the chairman of the UN peace mission and the leader of the UN forces which watches the truce between the two countries Gen. Robert Jordon.

The Ethiopian side to these negotiations will be led by Gen. Yuhanis Jermaskill, while Eritrea's side by Ibrahili Kafalli.

These meetings will be in preparations for plenary meetings to be held in May next year in order to start the mission of border demarcation between the two countries, at a length of 1000 Km, within a period of 6 months time after which the peoples of the area from the two countries will be transported to the lands to be annexed to each of them in the future.

The international borders between Eritrea and Ethiopia will be announced by the end of 2003 or the beginning of 1004.

The two sides will be also discussing details relating to the Ethiopia- Eritrea peace process since suspension of discussions in these issues in April this year.
