Sudan: results of peace negotiations below expectations
Ghazi Salah eddine, the advisor of the Sudanese President for peace affairs, has described the second round of negotiations between the Sudanese government and the rebels as successful but being less than what was expected.
In a statement he made on Tuesday evening in Khartoum upon his return from Nairobi, he attributed the failure of the said round -- the signing a complete and detailed agreement on sharing wealth and the authority -- to the release of what he called the "American peace law" on Sudan.
The Sudanese advisor stressed his government's readiness to provide a complete framework for the formation of a national unity government. He called for the participation of all political and social forces in the operations pertinent to the provisional period in the country.
