Originally published

Son of the Iraqi President, Ode Saddam Hussein, yesterday urged the Iraqi national council ( the parliament ) to accept the new UN resolution concerning dismantling the Iraqi weapons.

Ode, who is a member in the Iraqi national council called in a work paper he had sent to the parliament to take clear decisions and accept UN resolution 1441.

He stressed that need of specifying certain conditions to accept the said resolutions, and this is to approve it under the cover and protection of the Arab umbrella, and to have among the weapons inspectors Arab observers and technicians.

Ode criticized the friendly countries, including China and Syria which voted for the resolution despite their former opposition to it.

He urged the Arab states to prevent the passage of any weapon that might be used against Iraq, through the Arab water passages (gulf) or airspace, noting the need of ruling out any Arab state providing facilities to the US and its alliance in preparation for a military attack against his country.

On the other hand, the correspondent of al-Jazeera TV which broadcast the session of the Iraqi national council "live" said that the message Ode sent to the parliament asked for reconsidering the contracts Iraq had offered for each of Syria, Russia, China and France.
