Morocco's King Mohammed VI, who was accompanied by prince Moulay Rachid, held a meeting this Saturday with the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, who is on an official visit to the kingdom.

The two heads of state then chaired a work session.

On Friday, the sovereign hosted at the Royal Palace of Marrakesh an official dinner in honor of the Amir of Qatar.

At the Throne room, the sovereign and his guest exchanged distinctions.

The Qatari ruler was accompanied by foreign minister, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabr Al Thani, finance minister, Youssouf Houssein Kamal, public health minister Hajr Ahmed Hajr, state minister, Abdallah Ben Khalifa Al-Ateiya, and other Qatari officials.

On the Moroccan side, the dinner was attended by the prime minister, the speakers of the two parliamentary houses, the king's advisors, the government members and other top officials.

Upon arrival in Marrakesh on Friday, the Amir of Qatar, who chairs the present session of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), told reporters his visit to Morocco "reflects the brotherly links that bind the two countries" and "illustrates our permanent will to carry on contacts, consultation and exchange of views on all issues of bilateral and common interest concern, especially national crucial issues in these difficult circumstances for the Arab and Islamic nation."

Last June, the Moroccan king had paid a friendship visit to Qatar, as part of a Middle East tour that led him to Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
