No Arabic courses for Moroccan emigrant children: teachers denied Spain visa

Originally published

Moroccan children living in Catalunia (northeastern Spain) will not be able to take Arabic language and Islamic education courses as the Spanish consular services in Morocco have denied entry visas to their teachers.

The teachers have been waiting since September for a visa to Spain, reports Spanish wide-circulation daily "El Mundo" recalling that in 1980 Morocco and Spain had concluded an agreement under which the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans settled abroad would pay for teachers to give to these expatriate children classes in Arabic language and Islamic education.

The Spanish consular services have not given any reason for their failure to deliver a visa to the teachers, says the paper.
