Al-Bashir: peace is Sudan's strategic option

The Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has stressed that peace is the strategic option for Sudan. He renewed his government's unwavering stand regarding the return back to the table of negotiations whenever atmospheres are suitable for that.

In a speech he delivered on Monday on the occasion of the national council in its 4th session, President al-Bashir commended the sacrifices made by the Sudanese people. He said that the Sudanese government will spare no efforts to ensuring security and stability in all parts of the country.

Al-Bashir, on the other hand, stressed that Sudan rejects directing any military attacks against Iraq. He called on various sides to find out a solution for the crisis by peaceful means that can avert war on Iraq and the region.
