Bin Ali calls for a new conception for international cooperation

Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has called on the international community to "crystallize a new conception for international solidarity that unites all efforts in order to limit the gap which has been widening between the north and the south."

In a speech he delivered at a dinner banquet he held in honor of the Polish president, currently visiting Tunisia, President Bin Ali underlined the importance of "tolerance, to maintain dialogue among civilizations, cultures and religions and backing solidarity among various peoples and nations away from conflicts and struggles."

He expressed Tunisia's strong concern over the grave developments on the Palestinian arena and its great regret of the aggressions conducted by Israel against the Palestinian people."
