Haaretz: Sharon government has no objective, Peres
The Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres has strongly criticized the government of Ariel Sharon for which he works as a foreign minister and viewed Sharon as having no objective.
The Israeli mass media said that Peres' criticism to the security and diplomatic policy of Sharon government came during his meeting with Sharon and several Israel cabinet ministers and security officials.
The Israeli daily Haaretz explained, quoting Peres as saying that since 18 months, the security situation has been deteriorating, and the government has no objective.
Two days earlier Sharon had sent to the US his office director Dove Wesghlas, and Peres denied that he had known about that. Peres indicated in this regard that he can not shoulder his responsibility as a foreign minister unless he will take part in the decision making. Peres threatened to quit the government.
Worthy mentioning that Shimon Peres had repeatedly threatened to resign from Sharon's government and he has always given up this threat.
