Al-Assad confers with Lebanese intellectuals

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received member of the Lebanese parliament Asaad Hardan. Discussions dealt with issues of concern to Syria and Lebanon.

Al- Assad also received at al-Rawda palace on Monday afternoon professor Nicola Zeyadah, the teacher of historical sciences. President al-Assad listened from Zeyadah to a historical review of certain incidents since the beginning of the "Arab nationalism projects and the continued attempts to foil it."

Stress was laid on the significance of history in making assessment to the present and future and that through history we can measure the progress of nations. Al-Assad commended Zeyadah's life span in devoting efforts to his career.
