Russia - Iraq economic cooperation

Originally published

The Russian government has described Iran and Iraq as two traditional partners for Russia and that cooperation with them serve the Russian interests, rejecting a link between the economic cooperation program to be signed with Iraq and the possibility of launching a military act against this country by the USA.

In a statement made on Monday, a source at the Russian government said that the negative American position concerning the Russian- Iraqi economic cooperation is also similar to the continued criticism for the Russian- Iranian relations.

The source indicated that the sum dedicated to the Russian- Iraq cooperation program is 40 billion dollars over a period of ten years and includes the development of cooperation in the areas of oil, gas, electrical energy, transport, telecommunications, melting and agriculture.
