Sudanese FM calls for dealing with Halayeb issue reasonably

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mostafa Othman stressed the need to deal with Halayeb question wisely.

ÊÊÊ The current circumstances require setting aside Arab and Islamic differences and seeking unity in the face of conspiracies hatched against Khartoum and Cairo.

ÊÊÊ The Sudanese government gives priority to the country's supreme interests and ignores those who are sitting in high towers and make statements, he said.

ÊÊÊ Halayeb issue was and will remain a Sudanese issue, he said. But he reaffirmed that Egypt will remain an Arab and Islamic neighbours whose people are the closest to the Sudanese people, but this will not drop a Sudanese right, he said.

ÊÊÊ Othman said he would visit Cairo shortly to take part in the Arab foreign ministers' meetings.

ÊÊÊ He went on to say that during the visit he would hold consultations on peace and the Egyptian -Sudanese relations.
