US to convene a second meeting for Iraqi opposition

Originally published

The Turkish daily Zaman ( times) said on Tuesday that the US administration is preparing to convene a second plenary meeting for the Iraqi opposition groups in London that will concentrate on the provisional administration in Iraq, following a successful toppling the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, and will invite the Turkman to this meeting as a result of the Turkish pressures towards this matter.

Worthy mentioning that the US administration had alienated the Turkman from the meeting it held with the Iraqi opposition groups in Washington by the beginning of this month, August.

For its part, the Turkish daily Yani Cafak said that Ankara is planning to convene a meeting with the Turkman very soon, noting Turkey's regret regarding the extremist policies pursued by each of the two leaders of the Kurdistani National Federation Jalal Talibani and the Kurdistani Democratic Party Masoud al-Barazani towards the Turkmans.
