Al-Majjallah: the after Saddam scenario
The London - based magazine al-Majjallah published in its recent issue the "after- Saddam scenario" prepared by sides with strong ties to the US defense department ( the Pentagon ). The scenario starts by forming secretly an Iraqi government in exile just enough time before the war and to be declared officially the day the war is announced about the establishment of a free Iraq government.
The scenario also said that in that same day the new government issues its first statement in which it announces firing Saddam Hussein and desolving the Iraqi Baath Party. The new Iraqi government is also to appeal to the freedom and democracy loving countries to support it in founding a democratic system in Iraq, and also in the same day the US President would announce he has received the appeal and he has ordered to give all possible aid to found a democratic regime in Iraq.
The new scenario also said that in line of these moves, the American forces, will interfere, at an invitation from the Iraqi government. These forces will not fire Saddam Hussein because this is not one of its targets, but it wants to help the new Iraqi government and because Saddam will not be a president after the first statement, he will be then considered just a war criminal fleeing justice.
The scenario added that the American intervention will start by the special forces ( the commandos ) in order to arrest Saddam Hussein and bring him to international trial as a war criminal and the "special forces" will also ask for the interference of the American airforce and will provide guidance for strikes the same it did in Afghanistan.
The scenario explained that the air strike will concentrate in the beginning on "Saddam Hussein" palaces and places he usually hide in and the town of "Takreit" from where he has come, and the Republican Guards, and the air bombardment will move to the Iraqi armed forces after giving it a grace period and a warning to rebel against the former government.
The scenario indicates that the land forces will not sneak towards Iraq for sensitivities of the neighboring states, but the "special forces" will found military bases in which parachuting teams will land and they will chase Saddam Hussein and leaders of the Baath Party, the army generals supporting him, the ministers and intelligence officials and sneaking to Baghdad by tanks and armored vehicles will be avoided.
The scenarios ends into forming an international court to try Saddam Hussein and his aides.
