Sudan's foreign debts talks with IMF and WB
The Sudanese minister of finance and the national economy al-Zubeir Ahmad al-Hassan has unveiled talks held between the government and each of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World bank (WB) on the issue of Sudan's debts in the framework of preparation for the period after the peace agreement phase.
In a statement on Friday in Khartoum, al-Hassan said that the talks aim at drawing a joint prospect on Sudan's ability to pay its due debts and possible exemptions and stages for refunding the debts.
However, an earlier agreement between the two sides had resulted in reducing Sudan's debts payments from 5 million dollars to one million per day.
