The Israeli supreme court on Thursday decided to extend the detention of the Palestinian secretary of the Fatah Movement in the West Bank Marwan Hussein Bargouthi who is also member of the Palestinian Legislative council for additional 15 days without trial "due to the complexity of his file and the need for extra time to be able to prepare the statement of accusation within the coming weeks," according to the Israeli judge Dourith Benish.

The Israeli radio said on Thursday that Barghouthi who has been detained since mid April will be accused of being involved in a series of "suicide operations," being a member of "an enemy organization," of having weapons and explosives, and in taking part in a "conspiracy" to commit crimes.

The Israeli authorities consider Barghouthi as a chairman for al-Aqsa martyrs groups which belong to the Fatah movement.
