Mandella visits al-Miqrahi

Former South Africa's President Nelson Mandella intends to visit the Libyan Abdul Baset al-Miqrahi, who is in spending a life- imprisonment sentence after he was found guilty in December 2001 of blowing off an American plane over Lockerbie in 1988.

A spokesman for the Scottish authorities said that Mandella arrived in Barleini in order to visit al-Miqrahi and to know about his imprisonment conditions.
