Duma chief: Iraqi question will not be solved by force

The chairman of the Russian Duma council Genady Selezenove has stressed that the Iraqi issue cannot be solved by force, stressing that the possible American bombardment of Iraq will not correct the situation, to the contrary it will completely destabilize it.

In a statement he made in Moscow on Wednesday Selezenove said that diplomatic means to settle the Iraqi issue is still there, noting that his country has large economic interests in Iraq, and therefor Russia seeks to solve this issue peacefully.
