Arafat's visit to Syria is still valid

The chairman of the Palestinian National Salvation Front Khaled al-Fahoum has announced that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat will visit Syria in the course of a tour he will shortly pay to the Arab capitals, noting that the idea of this visit is still valid and confirmed.

In a statement to the Qatari daily al-Watan issued on Wednesday, al-Fahoum added that Arafat's visit will lead to increasing consultation and coordination between the Syrian and Palestinian leaderships on all conditions in the region.

Al-Fahoum underlined the importance of the visit, considering that any new meeting between the two leaderships ( the Syrian and Palestinian) will support the struggle and steadfastness of the Palestinian people, noting that the two sides had studied several common issues and concluded an agreement regarding them.
