Secret meetings between American officials, Kurdish leaders

Originally published

The BBC on Sunday quoted Iraqi Kurdish sources as saying that secret meetings were held between American officials representing the army and the foreign intelligence with the two Kurdish leaders Jalal al-Talibani and Masoud al- Barazani near the German capital Berlin.

The sources said that the aim of the meetings is coordination with the American efforts which aim at striking a military blow, expected to be held very soon against the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, most expectedly by the end of this year.
