Bush's statement described as strange and incomprehensive
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa described as strange and incomprehensible US President George Bush's statements in which he praised Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon as a man of peace.
The least that could be said about Bush's statements is that they are very strange, especially in view of the massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians.
"These statements prove how dangerous the situation is," Moussa asserted.
The country sponsoring the Middle East peace process has become the sponsor and protector of one side which is very grave, he said, asserting that this changed all past, present and even future peace proposals.
Moussa made the statements on arrival Friday from Geneva following a multi-leg European tour that also took him to Britain.
Commenting on his tour, Moussa said it came in implementation of the Arab summit resolutions to move at all political levels to expound the Arab position and debunk anti Arab media campaigns.
"We explained the situation in Jenin town and Jenin refugee camp with rife reports of massacres perpetrated by the Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians," he added.
He asserted that the issue came high during his talks in Geneva with the UN Human-Rights Commission and the International Committee of the Red Cross president.
Moussa said the Arab League is preparing for the EU Mediterranean meetings, to be hosted by the Spanish town of Valencia on April 22-23 as well as the meetings of the Non Aligned Movement.
