Jordan confirms elections in September

The Jordanian government has stressed that it is determined to carry out the parliamentary elections before the end of the current year.

The Jordanian minister of the interior Qaftan al-Majali said that the elections will be held in the last third of September, noting that the administrative measures are under way in preparations for the elections.

The Jordanian minister denied news reports saying that the government will postpone the elections because of the conditions in the region, especially the explosive situation in the Palestinian territories.
