Deir Yassin massacre anniversary observed in Britain

Originally published

The Arab community in Britain on Tuesday held an eulogy on the anniversary of the Deir Yassin massacre committed by the Israeli forces against the people of the Palestinian village Deir Yassin in 1956. The eulogy was attended by large number of Britons and men of religion and George Kary, the senior representative for the British archbishops.

In a speech he delivered at the eulogy Kary said he feels great pains over the sufferings of the Palestinian people as a result of the Israeli occupation forces. He added: "He had felt the sufferings of this people during the Deir Yassin carnage."

One of the British Jews who oppose Israel, Lolin Harris, who attended the eulogy read a statement written by one Israeli soldier who served in the Palestinian territories in which he said he felt disgusted about his mission. The soldier questioned in his message how the situation reached the current situation as it is in killing women, and the poor Palestinian children. He stressed that his mission was a deception committed by his government against him.
