Stability makes Morocco an investments hub, Korean official
The political and economic stability Morocco enjoys makes of it a hub of investments in North Africa, said Tuesday Samuel Lee, Director-General of the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Lee, who is attending a meeting in Casablanca of Moroccan and Korean economic operators, deplored in a statement to MAP news agency the low level of Moroccan-Korean trade.
He noted that the Moroccan-Korean trade balance is in favor of Morocco.
The official imputed such weakness to geographic remoteness, which makes it difficult to promote the two countries potentials and resources.
Morocco's exports to Korea are made up mainly of agricultural produce, fish, olives, phosphates, while imports from the Asian country consist of textile, cars, spare parts and mobile phone sets.
Incepted in 1962, KOTRA has branches in a hundred countries, including Morocco. The center acts as Korea's trade and industry chamber.
