Second stage of Toshka's electricity station costs LE 70 million
Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis said the electricity sector is ready to provide the giant-national projects of Toshka and Owainat with power next October.
The Minister indicated that the Ministry had completed the establishment of a transformer station whose total capacity hits 600,000 KV to feed the main water pumping station.
"The cost of the first station hits LE 100 million whereas the second one-under construction will cost about LE 70 million and due to open next July," he said.
Younis added that the electric current linkage was launched last February through an aerial line from Aswan to Toshka with a length of 270 km.
He asserted that all these projects and others are carried out by Egyptian experts and workers, adding that the Ministry depends mainly on locally made equipment and materials.
