Al-Assad confers with chairperson of the Spanish parliament

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday upon his meeting with the chairperson of the Spanish parliament Mrs Lweisa Firnanda Roddy said that Syria was and is still with a just and comprehensive peace, even under worst conditions, because her principle is unwavering.

The Syrian president spoke of "the massacres committed by Israel against the Palestinian people." He called for the implementation of UN resolutions which are taken in order to solve the current crisis in the region, and for not to have the agreements incomplete as the case with previous agreements.

President al-Assad also called for implementation of resolutions taken for settling the current crisis in the Middle East region. He also called on Europe to play " a more effective role in this regard." The speaker of the Spanish parliament stressed that Spain supports the implementation of all UN security council resolutions concerned and that she seeks to implement these resolutions in her capacity as the current President of the EU rotating presidency.
