Two Palestinians killed, vast detention campaign, Sharon prevents Arafat from the summit
The two Palestinians Khaled Mousa ( 19 year old) and Shadi Hamamira ( 23 year old ) were shot to death in an operations whose details were not known. News reports are contradictory on their blowing off a booby trapped car near an Israeli trade center, according to what was announced by al- Aqsa martyrs group which adopted the operation and the Israeli news which said that two Palestinians in a car near Walja village refused to stop at a military patrol and its members opened on them and all of them died.
In Jerusalem, one Israeli soldier opened fire just because he stopped near the foreign ministry in the downtown of the city.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said that the said citizen was able to escape, while the spokesman, on the other hand, admitted that the Israeli forces arrested Samer Ahmad Abu Haneya, a member in the Palestinian intelligence under the charges of taking part in the Intifada.
The Israeli military court admitted that the Israeli investigators killed the Palestinian Abed Khreizat during investigations, claiming simultaneously that the incident ( killing upon investigation) is not considered " physical liquidation or execution." The Israeli forces arrested 44 citizens from Kafer Qasem village and two youths from al-Lid city at the charges of resisting the occupation.
Meantime, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has renewed his conditions for permitting the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat to attend the Beirut summit, claiming that conditions are not yet prepared for that.
Sharon said that the two conditions which will avail Arafat to leave the Palestinian territories are: his announcement ( Arafat ) in the Arabic language to halt what he called violence and to permit Israel to study his return back to the Palestinian territories, in case Palestinian operations will take place during his absence in Beirut.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the Israeli government said that the government has no immediate plans to meet for discussing lifting the embargo on Arafat travel.
