Qaddafi: I will not attend the Arab summit
Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi said he will not attend the Beirut's Arab summit because the " Arab states because they do not honor their decisions," noting that the recent Arab summit decided to form a committee of seven states to study a strategic initiative he had proposed to solve the question of the Arab- Israeli conflict, but never did it.
He regretted neglecting his initiative and having the interest focused on the initiative of the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. In a statement on Monday evening with al-Jazira TV station in Qatar, al-Qaddafi denied that the security reason is behind his absence from the summit.
Replying to a question on whether the stances shown by Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and the "Amal" movement on the disappearance of Imam Mousa al-Sader is the reason for his absence, al-Qaddafi said: "I do not stop at issues as such, I have not heard of these names. The matter is that not honoring the Arab summit for its resolutions and the Arabs dishonoring of their resolutions towards an important strategic issue."
