Bush calls on Arafat to put an end to the Palestinian resistance

The US President George Bush, who is on an official visit to Peru on Saturday evening in Lima called on the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat to put an end to the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation, if he desires to have a meeting with his Vice President Dick Cheney.

News reports quoted Bush as saying "we have told Arafat clearly that he is not making all his efforts for putting an end to these operations."
