Sahara issue not the only divergence between Morocco and Spain, official
The Sahara issue is not the only divergence between Morocco and Spain, said Thursday in Barcelona Moroccan secretary of state for foreign affairs and cooperation, Taib Fassi Fihri.
Fihri told Spanish reporters following a presentation he made at the North African development and business forum held this March 20-21 in Barcelona the two countries have to hold frank and taboo-free dialogue on all pending issues and problems between them if bilateral cooperation is to develop on sound, credible and positive bases.
He further explained that calling back Moroccan ambassador in Madrid was meant to express Morocco's dissatisfaction with the nature of dialogue and the level of cooperation between Morocco and Spain.
The official who chaired the inaugural session of the forum also held private talks with Spanish peer Miguel Nadal on relations between the two Mediterranean countries.
Last October, Morocco recalled its ambassador in Madrid for consultation, in view of "a number of Spanish attitudes and stands vis-a-vis Morocco."
