Mameluk antiquities represent Egypt in museums without borders project
Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni Thursday opens the "Mameluk art charm of the Sultans" gala, held within the "Islamic art in the Mediterranean basin and Europe" project, being carried out by the international museums without borders organization.
Five Egyptian archaeological sites representing the most important Mameluk antiquities were selected.
Abdullah Al-Attar, head of the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Sectors, said the archaeological sites selected are not included on the Egyptian tourist map except the Saladin citadel.
