Latest Israeli aggressions attempt to foil peace efforts

Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Maher described the recent Israeli atrocious aggressions on Jaballa refugee camp and the Palestinian Authority headquarters in Ramallah as a very dangerous, a matter that reflects an early attempt to foil the surging peace efforts.

In statements, Maher reaffirmed that the Israeli practices represent a flagrant violation of international community to intervene and immediately shoulder responsibility towards the deteriorating situation.

The Israeli bombardment with tanks of Ramallah hospital and preventing rescue works of the ambulances are inhuman acts which violate the Fourth Geneva Conventions.

Maher also referred to the current Israeli chaos and controversial decisions. He pressed for creating an atmosphere conducive to peace talks and set the path for success of the mission of US envoy Anthony Zinni.

Maher contacted the Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Pique, the EU envoy to Mideast Miguel Moratinos, US State Secretary Colin Powell and US and British ambassadors in Cairo on the latest regional developments.
