Nasrullah officially discloses sending Katyusha to the Intifada

In his first "official" declaration on a practical support for the Palestinian Intifada, the secretary general of the Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah on Friday said that there are detainees for the party held by the Jordanian authority "while trying to bring into Palestine amounts of Katyusha."

Nasrullah noted that "they were trying to reach the Palestinians with these weapons, which if it were in the hands of the Palestinians, Sharon (the Israeli prime minister) would not dare to attack and reoccupy the Palestinian camps as he is doing now."

Nasrullah statement was made while he was answering a question on what the Hizbullah is doing to support the Intifada during a meeting on the occasion of the teacher's day." He added "What the party can do will do without hesitation," considering that the current phase is that of exerted efforts rather than sayings."

He added that what makes things painful is that the weapon those youths were carrying ( Hizbullah members) and trying to get to the Palestinians would have changed the equilibrium, protects the Intifada and furnished a deterrent weapon. He added that "at the time when Arab summits and Arab heads of states call for supporting the Intifada the Jordanian authorities arrest those who work for supporting this Intifada. This is an indication to the position the party holds towards Jordan on the eve of convening the Arab summit in Beirut by the end of this month.

Just several days ago, the Lebanese daily Assafir disclosed that there are three Hizbullah party detainees in Jordan since six months and that one of them is called Youssef al-Jouni and they were arrested upon trying to deploy Katyusha missiles to Palestine. The three men were not tried so far and contacts made to release them failed because of the Jordanian King Abdullah rejects to release them.
