Morocco's King Mohammed VI has pledged to work together with President Jiang Zemin of China to enhance bilateral relations in various political, economic, commercial, scientific and cultural fields, and to expand these ties for the benefit of the two countries, and of their longstanding friendship and age-old civilizations.

This came in the message that the sovereign sent Sunday to President Zemin at the end of the state visit he paid to China February 4-11.

The sovereign expressed gratefulness "for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to me personally and to the delegation accompanying me in this auspicious visit."

"I am also glad to say that I was greatly impressed by the extent of the development and progress that I noticed and observed by the outstanding achievements, which have been accomplished thanks to the genius of Chinese people and to their creativeness and dynamism, which empowered them to rise to major Power status world-wide," King Mohammed VI said, expressing satisfaction over the outstanding bilateral relations and over the steps taken by the two friendly countries as part of their cooperation agreements.

"We shall work together to enhance them and look forward to strengthening them further in various political, economic, commercial, scientific and cultural fields, with a view to developing and expanding these ties as well as capitalizing on them, for the benefit of our countries, with their longstanding friendship and age-old civilizations," the sovereign stated.
