Saudi reservations to buy American rice

The Saudi ministry of trade has showed reservations on all shipments of American rice because of suspicion it includes lead.

A statement by the ministry of commerce explained that the ministry circulated a notification on all its quality control laboratories and to withdraw samples from them to make sure they do not have " lead " and the extent of its validity for human consumption."

The statement added that the ministry started to take this measure due to what was stated by certain mass media of reports stating that the Japanese authorities discovered lead in the bags of the American rice.
