Yemeni president highlights Turkey's role in supporting Arab causes

The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has called on Turkey to invest its international relations to serve the Palestinian cause. He stressed the importance of the role that Ankara can play in serving regional peace and stability.

News reports quoted the Yemeni President as saying on Monday during his meeting with the Turkish minister of state Ramadan Merza Oglo that the Yemeni president noted the role Turkey can play in serving regional security and stability and investing its international relations in the service of the causes of the Islamic nation especially the cause of Palestine.

The Yemeni president stressed the importance of initiating strong relations based on cooperation and good neighborly between Turkey and Iraq for strengthening security, stability and peace in the region.

Worthy mentioning that Merza takes part in the presidency of the joint Yemeni- Turkish ministerial committee which started last Sunday meetings of its 2nd session in Sanaa.
