Member of the managing board of the German public bank Kreditanslat fur Wiederaufbau (KFW), Ingrid Matthaus-Maier, is expected in Morocco this Tuesday on a five-day visit.

Matthaus-Maier-- who is also representative of the social-democrat party at the German Parliament- will confer with several Moroccan officials, including the secretary general of the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation, and the general managers of the drinking water and electricity authorities, ONEP and ONE, a release by the German embassy in Rabat said.

KFW extends, on behalf of the German government, loans and donations in the frame of international financial cooperation.

The amount currently earmarked for Morocco is worth more than 480 million DH, the embassy release said.

The German executive will visit the Lafarge cement factory in Meknes (some 170 KM north-east of Rabat), the drinking water treatment station of Loukkos (northern Morocco), and the wind-generating power station of the northern city of Tangier. She will also visit Casablanca, Rabat, Fez and the ancient roman site of Volubilis, near Meknes.
