Sudan, Ethiopia for further cooperation

Originally published

Ethiopia's prime minister Meles Zenawi has described his visit to Sudan as practical and as a manifestation of the joint desire to maintaining cooperation between the two countries especially in the economic fields.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Sudanese daily al-" Sahafi al-Dawli," Zenawi said that his visit to Sudan was unique and came at a time when the political atmosphere between the two countries has become very positive, opened vast economic prospects as the city of "Port Sudan" has become one of Ethiopia's widows for its foreign trade after the completion of measures relating to that. In this regard, Zenawi said the land road between the two countries has been almost completed.

The Ethiopian prime minister said that borders between his country and Sudan will be a bridge of contacts and communications, rather separation areas, especially as the two countries will almost agree ultimately on issues relating to security in the region and that Khartoum and Addis Ababa are at the meantime, proceeding towards eliminating customs barriers and are involved to taking tangible strides to complete their partnership.
