Unemployment in Israel
The Israeli government announced on Wednesday that it has banned the foreign labor force from working in Israel in an attempt to fight the escalated unemployment in Israel.
To this effect, the Israeli ministry of social affairs said that this measure comes after a decision taken recently by the Israeli government to define number of foreign laborers at 48,000 in the sectors of building and construction, agriculture and industry.
Unemployment in Israel at the meantime targets more than 235,000 persons in Israel, representing 9.3% of the total labor force.
In 2001 Israel had the worst economic performance in 50 years, since its foundation.
