UK enlists Egypt as stable market

Originally published

The British government decided to lift the name of Egypt off the promising markets list where it has been existing over the recent years and set to enlist it on the stable markets list, which is a better degree.

That was stated by Taher Al-Shreif, Secretary General of the British Chamber of Commerce in London. He added that Tony Mills, representative of British Trade Office, asked him to announce that new classification of Egypt.

Al-Sherif said that he was told that Egypt has already out-stepped the stage of the promising markets. "Egypt successfully passed all the criteria and tests set by the British authorities, so as to gain the fresh classification of the stable markets" he added.

Such a step would open the way for a new phase of better joint commercial and investing cooperation at both the governmental as well as at the private levels in the two countries. The British side is keen to enhance more extensive investments and trade exchange with Egypt.

The considerations on which the new economic status was given to Egypt affirmed the political stability and security it enjoys today.
