After the killing one Israeli soldier, wounding of two, Israeli army breaks into the Jordanian borders
One Israeli soldier was killed and other two were strongly wounded in Beit Youssef district situated between Tibries and Beisan near the Jordanian borders after fire was opened at an Israeli patrol there.
Immediately, the Israeli army broke into the Jordanian borders and carried out a vast mopping up campaign to chase several persons who opened fire at the Israeli patrol.
Detailed news reports said, according to the Qatari TV al-Jazira that an unidentified armed group succeeded on Tuesday at 7 a.m. in sneaking into occupied Palestine ( Israel) through the Jordanian borders near Beit Youssef town, situated between Tibries and Beisan inside Israel and opened fire at an Israeli soldier and a patrol for the Israeli army. The attacks resulted in killing the soldier and strong wounds of members of the patrol. The group returned back to the Jordanian territories. Then clashes and chasing operation followed when the Israeli forces broke into the Jordanian borders and carried out a vast mopping up campaign in search of the group but in vain.
On the Jordanian side, Jordanian parliamentarian Hamadeh al-Fara'enah said the Israeli army has violated all common norms, stressing that that the Israeli army crossed the Jordanian river but the Jordanian forces prevented the Israeli soldiers from entering the Jordanian territories.
Al- Fara'enah added that Jordanian- Israeli relations are tense because of the Israeli violations and their humiliating and racist colonialist policies against the Palestinians.
Jordan, on the other hand, denied any links to the opening fire incident. The spokesman for the Jordanian government Saleh al-Qallab said in a press statement that no fire was exchanged through the Jordan river. He said that a clash took place at the beginning to the west of the Jordan river on the israeli side in the area adjoining the northern entrance of Jordan.
As the Israeli authorities intensify its investigations to know the identity of the implementing side of the operation, the Israeli army reinforced its existence in the area of the accident of fears of other sneaking operation. Armored Israeli Patachi helicopters are continuously flying in the airspace of the area, carrying out mopping up operations on the borders while Israeli tanks, armored vehicles and huge number of soldiers are stationed on the ground.
