Al-Assad meets with the Russian Duma delegation

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the Damascus al-Shaab palace on Monday received Demitri Ragozin, the chairman of the foreign relations committee at the Russian Duma council and members of the accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by chairman of the People's Assembly (PA) Arab and foreign affairs Committee Shaker As'.eed and the Russian ambassador in Damascus.

Discussions dealt with latest developments on the regional and international arenas as well as the solid friendship relations between Syria and federal Russia.

President al-Assad stressed that Syria, despite of the changes took place in the world and the changes in " Israel" which led to the succession of anti- peace government to the authority, has not changed its position concerning the question of peace and its determination to restore back all its occupied territories, according to international legitimacy resolutions.

The president expressed Syria's readiness to cooperate with federal Russia in any role it plays with other international sides with the aim of achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region.

The president asked the chairman of the visiting Russian delegation to convey greetings to President Putin of Russia and to the chairman and members of the Russian Duma ( parliament) council.
