American diplomat in Makadishu

Officials at the American embassy in Nairobi on Wednesday disclosed that an American diplomat arrived in Makadishu on Tuesday in a first visit held by an American official to Somalia since many years.

News reports said that Tom Heart, the spokesman for the American embassy in Nairobi refused direct link between the US official Glen Warren to Somalia and the war the US knocking its drums in several countries under the pretext of fighting terrorism, and confined to saying that this visit falls in the course of continuing dialogue between the two sides.

Worthy mentioning that Somalia was referred as a possible resort for Osama Bin Laden in case he is able to flee from Afghanistan.
